Art
At Shakespeare Infant School, we believe Art should be exciting, inspiring and creative. We provide opportunities for every child to develop their imagination, creativity and enjoyment of art, craft and design.
Children explore the work of a diverse range of artists and experiment with different materials and techniques, including painting, drawing, pastels, clay, chalk and sculpture. As they move through the school, they build their artistic skills and knowledge while developing the confidence to make their own creative choices.
We strongly believe in process over product. We celebrate the exploration, skills, thinking and progress that take place during the creative process, rather than focusing solely on the finished piece. Through Art, we aim to nurture curiosity, independence and creativity, giving children the confidence and enthusiasm to continue creating and appreciating art.
